Ahoy there Ambassadors, thank you for helping us reach out to new potential Volunteers Crewmates.
Word of mouth is our strongest recruitment tool, so your help in spreading the word is invaluable!
Here’s how you can help:
Tell your friends and family!
Can you think of 1-5 people who would be great Volunteer Crewmates? Let them know about your experience of volunteering with and share this link for them to find out more: http://www.hackneypirates.org/volunteer
Tell your colleagues!
As you know volunteering with children can be very rewarding. If any of your colleagues can spare one afternoon a month, they can have a real impact on children’s lives.
See if your HR department would be happy circulating this email text around the office:
Make learning an adventure for local young people
The Hackney Pirates are a children’s charity, focusing on helping children improve their literacy skills, and we’re looking for volunteers to join our crew!
Can you spare one afternoon a month to help make a huge difference in young people’s lives?
Volunteer Crewmates work one-to-one or in small groups with children aged 9-13, supporting them with reading and creative writing activities. The writing children produce is then published in the form of books, studio recordings, smartphone apps and films. The commitment required of volunteers is very low, just one session a month (3.45pm to 6.45pm).
I think you'd make a great Volunteer Crewmate! You can find out more and sign up here: http://www.hackneypirates.org/volunteer
